How will Legacy10 help?
Britain is a country made up of incredibly generous people. Three quarters give something to charity every year. Yet only 7% of the same people leave a gift to charity in their will. In the US the figure is three times higher. The campaign is going to do all it can to help make 10% giving the norm, not the exception.
A new Populus poll of over 2000 people, found that over 80% of people in the UK were unaware of the impending changes to IHT, but that over 70% would now either make a legacy or consider doing so. One of the aims of Legacy10 is to encourage those who want to give and highlight the benefits that legacy giving can have
As part of its campaign Legacy10 will be creating ‘pledge ambassadors’ across the worlds of business, arts and entertainment, sport and philanthropy throughout the UK to reach across the charitable sector and drive an increase in legacy giving.
Legacy10 will provide quarterly updates on the progress being made in encouraging legacy giving across the company, ensuring positive momentum is generated
Legacy10 will be a registered charity with the purpose of encouraging legacy giving in the UK and will not collect or distribute funds
